OSAKA, May 7 — Selangor’s participation in the World Expo 2025 Osaka sends a clear message that the state administration is open to partnerships with international investors and industry players.

“We welcome (knowledge) sharing on investments and technology that add value to startups, to widen innovation from the aspects of policy inclusivity, talent, and academia,” state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said in a speech at the “Building a Resilient Future: Where Technology Meets Tomorrow” forum.

The forum was held on the sidelines of the World Expo 2025 here today, where five startups from Selangor shared their innovation and business ideas with investors.

The five companies were Xtractify Sdn Bhd, Collaborative Excellence Sdn Bhd, Modello Search Sdn Bhd (GoFluence), Neupulse Sdn Bhd (BiiB), dan Hikayat Kebun Sdn Bhd.

Ng said these companies have a background in artificial intelligence, sustainability, and agriculture.

He added that the state government, through the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), has seen the creation of 320 startups, with 65 of them having generated RM203 million in investment.

“Through strategic initiatives managed by Sidec, such as the Selangor Accelerator Programme and Selangor E-Commerce Xccelerator, the state catalyses digital progress,” he added.

The Selangor government joined the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry at the Malaysian Pavilion for the World Expo, which has drawn the participation of 161 countries.

Selangor Week at the expo, themed “Building A Resilient Future”, centres Selangor as a future-driven state that is competitive, globally connected, and powered by technology, culture, and youth.
