SUBANG JAYA, April 7 — Toys have been provided at temporary relief centres for children who fell victim to the gas pipeline blast in Putra Heights here.
State executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari said her office has held talks with the Selangor People with Disabilities Action Council to identify additional needs for the comfort and safety of vulnerable groups.
“State government agencies like the Warisan Anak Selangor Foundation have been entrusted with providing toys for these children.
“Praise be to God, the Social Welfare Department (JKM) has prepared several daily activities such as colouring and reading,” said Anfaal after visiting victims at the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) temporary relief centre here yesterday.
She said other than clothing, drinks, and comfort, her office is prioritising victims’ emotional and social welfare.
She added that JKM has opened the MBSJ Harmoni Hall to collect donated goods.
Anfaal said her office has ordered Wanita Berdaya Selangor to ensure more regulated aid distribution.
