SHAH ALAM, April 7 — Parents of children with disabilities (PWD) can apply for the Selangor Special Needs Children (ANIS) aid programme from tomorrow to April 18.
The ANIS office said applicants can visit its website for more information, and that the deadline for document submissions is May 2.
“Completed application forms must be printed and attached with supporting documents, and submitted in person at the ANIS Early Education Support Centre or their nearest state constituency service centres,” it said in a Facebook post.
The state government spends millions of ringgit every year on the ANIS special aid. The programme is a state initiative aimed at alleviating the burden of families with PWD children.
The special aid encompasses education costs for therapy and special classes (RM1,000 maximum), medication and additional needs (RM1,200 maximum), and the purchase or upgrading of medical devices (RM5,000 maximum).

The Selangor government has also set up the ANIS Early Education Support Centre in Section 7, Shah Alam, to ensure special needs students have access to appropriate learning materials and facilities.
Earlier this year, state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari said the Selangor administration wants to set up ANIS centres in all 12 local authority jurisdiction areas.
She said collaborative efforts, which are still in the discussion stage, are to manage overcrowding at existing centres.
The 2025 Selangor State Budget earmarked RM2.3 million to implement the ANIS programme.
