SHAH ALAM, March 28 — Selangor’s Parti Keadilan Rakyat leadership council has backed Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari's retention of his position as Keadilan vice president in the upcoming party polls.
Speaking to Suara Keadilan, Selangor Keadilan secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the endorsement was based on Amirudin’s leadership as Selangor Menteri Besar and his contributions to strengthening the party’s administration at both state and national levels.
“Amirudin has not only displayed exceptional leadership in Selangor but also played a crucial role at the national level, particularly in establishing the Pahang Unity Government when he was MPN (State Leadership Council) Pahang chairman.
“Since its formation, the Pahang Unity Government, comprising Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan, has remained stable and cohesive,” he said.
Earlier this month, Amirudin confirmed that he will defend his vice-presidency post in the party elections scheduled for May 24.
Khairuddin cited the importance of maintaining party stability, particularly as Keadilan remains a key component of the Federal Unity Government.
Meanwhile, he said Selangor Keadilan will mobilise its election machinery to support the Unity Government’s candidate for the Ayer Kuning by-election in Perak on April 7.
“MPN Selangor will continue engaging the public on the state government’s achievements, including the integration of artificial intelligence in administration and the Selangor Food Warehouse initiative, which can store up to three months’ worth of food supply as a safeguard against future crises,” Khairuddin said.
