SHAH ALAM, March 11 — Selangor is aiming for a 20 per cent increase in European tourist arrivals next year with the launch of five exclusive travel packages at ITB Berlin 2025, the world’s largest travel trade show.

In a statement today, Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Chua Yee Ling expressed confidence that the new offerings, developed in collaboration with Dusky Leaf Adventures, would enhance the state’s appeal among European travellers.

She said as of September 2024, Selangor has welcomed 139,131 tourists from Europe and is looking at an increase this year.

“Our collaboration with Dusky Leaf Adventures reflects our dedication to providing high-quality, immersive experiences tailored to the European market.

“We believe these five tourism packages will showcase Selangor’s unique offerings and strengthen our appeal to European travellers,” she said.

The new travel packages, launched under the state’s Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign, ‘Surprising Selangor’, are designed to showcase the state’s diverse tourism offerings.

Branded as ‘Selangor — Surprisingly Unique Experiences’, the packages include Authentically Unique Banting, Malaysian Cooking Class in Cheras Selangor, Enchanting Kuala Selangor, Scenic Sabak Bernam, and Kampung Life of Hulu Langat.

Chua said the experiences focus on cultural heritage, ecotourism, and adventure tourism.

Meanwhile, Selangor’s delegation at ITB Berlin 2025 comprises key tourism stakeholders, travel agencies, and hospitality partners, who have engaged with over 300 potential buyers and travel operators.

The state is leveraging business-to-business (B2B) meetings, networking events, and strategic discussions to strengthen its position in the European travel market.
