SHAH ALAM, March 9 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today visited the family of one of the Malaysian students injured in a road crash in Jordan yesterday.
He said the parents of Fatimah Nuha Mustaza will leave for Jordan tonight to visit their daughter.
“Fatimah Nuha is an Arabic language student at Mutah University, Jordan, and she is still in hospital post-surgery,” he said in a Facebook post.
Amirudin said he made a personal contribution to Fatimah Nuha’s parents, and prayed for the Selangor student’s well-being as she pursues her studies abroad.
“God willing, the state government will monitor matters related to the welfare of Selangor students overseas.
“During the holy month of Ramadan, let us pray together so all goes well for these students and their families,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported that Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir said his ministry is monitoring the condition of the four students involved in the road crash.
“Education Malaysia Jordan (EMJ) informed us (of the students' situation), and EMJ is monitoring their condition,” he told reporters after an event at Universiti Sains Malaysia in George Town tonight.
This afternoon, Amirudin said two Selangor students were involved in a road crash in Jordan. Sumayya Azamuddin reportedly suffered minor injuries, while Fatimah Nuda was seriously hurt.
