SHAH ALAM, Feb 20 — The Selangor Care Accelerator (XCare) 2025 programme will feature 30 businesses pitching their ideas to expand the care economy industry.
State executive councillor for women development and welfare Anfaal Saari said the first-of-its-kind programme will include workshops covering 13 business-related modules for shortlisted participants.
“Participants will receive mentorship from experienced industry leaders and have the opportunity to visit local care industry facilities.
“The highlight of the XCare programme is the pitching competition, where all participants will compete in the semi-finals.
“Participants will undergo a screening process, with 10 selected businesses advancing to the finals,” she said at a press conference on the launch of XCare 2025 at the State Secretariat Building today.
Anfaal said at this stage, five businesses will be chosen as winners of an international industry visit, networking opportunities with industry leaders and investors, access to state and federal service matching, and a trophy and participation certificate.
To be eligible for the XCare programme, businesses must be registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia and not fall under the non-governmental or non-profit organisation category.
They must have been in operation for at least three years, with business premises located in Selangor, and generate an annual revenue between RM50,000 and RM200,000.
Eligible businesses should have no more than 10 employees and offer care-related products or services catering to groups such as the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and caregivers.
Additionally, company representatives, including founders, co-founders, and senior management, must commit to full participation in the programme.
The XCare programme aligns with Thrust 4 of the Selangor Care Economy Policy 2024-2030, focusing on investment and collaboration.
It reflects the state government’s commitment to driving innovation, supporting business growth, and building a sustainable care industry ecosystem.
Registration is open from today to March 10. For more details, visit the XCare website or email [email protected] for inquiries.
