SHAH ALAM, Feb 19 — Biometric devices and closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras are among two security tools that will be installed to support the e-land data system, thereby preventing misappropriation from recurring.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the centre will also be equipped with glass walls, and only system administrators will be allowed to access the programme.
He said the state government also places great importance on document control, where any registration process will be digitally signed using a token.

“This means that each user must input their biometrics before opening or carrying out transactions within the e-land system. Documents are encrypted and stored using ‘local storage’, ‘tape backup’, and replication at the Disaster Recovery Centre in case of supply disruptions.
“The e-land application is controlled through restricted access, requiring an ID password and biometric detection, along with the use of a firewall (a network security system) to regulate inbound and outbound traffic within e-land, as well as to detect any system threats,” Amirudin said.
Speaking at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly session today, the Sungai Tua state assemblyman added that his administration takes the misuse of the system seriously and will conduct activity monitoring.
As a result, all transactions within the system will be automatically recorded to ensure every action can be tracked and audited.
“A multi-level control system will also be implemented, where each District and Land Office personnel will be granted access based on their rank. Document approvals will also follow job positions and work rotations,” he said.
Yesterday, the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj expressed disapproval over the recurrence of cartel activities and business licence misappropriations.
To this, His Royal Highness wants government officers and civil servants, particularly at District and Land Offices and the local authorities, to carry out their duties responsibly and refrain from corrupt practices.
Additionally, department heads must ensure that abuse of power does not occur within their respective departments.
