State looks to acquire another road-patching machine

SHAH ALAM, Jan 14 — Selangor is set to acquire another Jetpatcher for Infrasel Sdn Bhd to ensure durable road patches.

State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim said the durability of roads patched with the machine is higher as the technology used results in a stronger, hotter mixture than with the previous method.

“In addition to durability, patches can be done in less time as this machine from the United Kingdom shortens the process threefold,” he said when contacted.

In September, Selangor received its first Jetpatcher, worth RM1 million, to repair damaged roads in the state.

The machine was used in Kuala Selangor first and eventually in other districts.

Izham said the state administration will also acquire a Thermalpatcher to patch narrow roads that cannot accommodate heavy vehicles.

The 2025 Selangor State Budget details RM50 million for the Road Patching Megaproject to address damaged roads that risk the safety and comfort of users.
