SHAH ALAM, Jan 12 — Dog owners in Klang have been urged to obtain licences online for their pets from the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK).

MBDK in a Facebook post said this is in line with the Dog and Dog Breeding House Licensing Bylaw 2007.

“Licence applications for pet dogs can be done online at a rate as low as RM10 per dog per year,” it said.

Yesterday, MBDK held a pet dog licensing programme at Ambang Botanic 2, Bandar Botanic Klang, from 9am to 4pm.

It said the programme was held to raise awareness among Klang dog owners.

“Through the programme, 95 dogs were licensed, while 32 were vaccinated by a private agency (Claws Veterinary Clinic).

“It is hoped this programme will encourage high accountability among dog owners to ensure the welfare of their pets and indirectly manage neighbourhood disturbances,” it said.

In the same event, MBDK opened a counter for visitors to check their compounds and a booth on dengue prevention.
