SHAH ALAM, Jan 9 — Tourism Selangor Sdn Bhd welcomed its new chief executive officer Chua Yee Ling, replacing Azrul Shah Mohamad, who has served the state agency for five years since 2020.
Chua’s appointment takes immediate effect.
In a statement, Tourism Selangor expressed confidence that Chua would help propel the state’s tourism industry, especially as the state hosts the Visit Selangor Year 2025.
“The board of directors, management team, and staff of Tourism Selangor warmly welcome the new CEO, who brings 17 years of extensive administrative experience across various industries, along with expertise and credibility that will contribute significantly to Tourism Selangor.
“With her outstanding track record across both the public and private sectors, Tourism Selangor is confident that Chua will strengthen the collaboration between the agency and the state government.
“This partnership is expected to drive the tourism industry to greater heights, particularly in achieving the goals of the Selangor Visit Year 2025.”
Prior to her appointment, Chua had served as the Industry Development and Business Network manager at Tourism Selangor for four years.
Before joining the state tourism promotion agency, she also held several key positions in the government, including special officer to the housing and local government minister.
She was also the Kuala Sepetang assemblyman for five years from 2013. She lost the seat in the 2018 Perak election.
The state government is targeting eight million domestic and international tourists and RM11.7 billion worth of transactions through its Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign.
