KLANG, Dec 20 — Tourism Selangor’s Hop-On Hop-Off (HOHO) double-decker bus service will soon expand to Klang, offering tourists an opportunity to explore the town’s rich heritage as part of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 (VSY2025) initiative.
Klang mayor Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain said the service will be fully operational by the end of December, with a scenic route starting at Port Klang and making stops at key attractions such as the Royal Gallery, GM Klang, Pasar Jawa, and Taman Mangrove Point.
“We aim to educate tourists about Klang’s historical significance as one of Malaysia’s oldest towns while simultaneously boosting the local economy,” Abd Hamid said at the launch of the Klang Municipal Council (MBDK) 2025 Tourism and Cultural Programme Calendar and HOHO Bus Service, here yesterday.
Also present at the event was Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad.
Meanwhile, Abd Hamid added that Klang ranked fourth among local councils in tourist arrivals this year, recording 459,979 visitors as of September.
The HOHO service, which debuted in Sepang in June last year, has offered tourists a unique experience aboard open-top buses, stopping at notable attractions including a dragon fruit farm that features Malaysia’s largest dragon fruit replica as tall as a three-storey building.
To date, the service has attracted approximately 1,500 tourists, covering 10 destinations in Sepang.
