SHAH ALAM, Nov 28 — Incumbent Sepang Municipal Council President Datuk Abd Hamid Hussain will soon become the new Klang Mayor, effective December 2.
Klang Deputy Mayor Mohd Zary Affendi Mohd Arif said his appointment comes in the wake of former mayor Datin Paduka Noraini Roslan, who retired on November 20.
“On behalf of the staff of the Klang Royal City Council, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the former mayor for her significant contributions during her tenure,” he said when chairing a full council meeting today.
Abd Hamid's mandate and placement letter presentation ceremony was officiated by Selangor State Secretary Dato' Haris Kasim at his office this morning.
Previously, Noraini had served at the Hulu Selangor District Council, the Kuala Selangor District Council, the Petaling Jaya City Council, and as the-then Klang Municipal Council's head of urban planning.
