SHAH ALAM, Nov 24 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari led a state government delegation on an official visit to Cairo, Egypt, from November 5 to November 7.
Accompanied by state executive councillor for Islamic affairs and innovation Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah, state executive councillor for public health and the environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin, and state executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato' Ng Suee Lim, the visit coincided with the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12) and the Selangor-Middle East Student Convention 2024.
WUF12 also featured the Selangor Pavilion, showcasing 12 local authorities and other state agencies.
The delegation included several key Selangor leaders, including State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim, Selangor Mufti Datuk Anhar Opir, Selangor Islamic Religious Department director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad, Selangor State Development Corporation chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas, and KDEB Waste Management managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir.

Other highlights of the visit included a goodwill meeting with Egypt's former grand mufti Professor Ali Jum’ah Muhammad Abdul Wahab in Giza, as well as a tour of Selangor student accommodations in Hayyu Asyir, Nasr City, which house 130 students.
Additionally, a dialogue session was held at Dewan Malaysia Abbasiah in Cairo with Malaysian students from various states who are pursuing their studies in the Middle East, to discuss current domestic and international issues.
