SUBANG JAYA, Nov 14 — Around 30 people today joined the FAM Trip to experience Selangor’s tourism products in conjunction with the 34th Raja Muda of Selangor International Regatta (RMSIR).

Tourism Selangor tourism and events manager M. Raul Mustaffa said the FAM Trip also promotes Visit Selangor Year 2025.

He said participants were brought to the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang’s Rubinga Equestrian Centre (MREC) to try horseback sports, and the Farm Fresh@UPM dairy farm.

“We prioritise the tourist experience such as observing dairy production. They can also try making traditional treats such as koci labu,” he said when met today.

Meanwhile, RMSIR participant Tony Sobey, 86, praised the FAM Trip.

Sobey, who is from England and is this year’s oldest participant of the international sailing championship, said the trip was a special experience.

“I have participated in the regatta 20 times and this is the first time I have experienced such a beneficial tour. Congratulations, Tourism Selangor!” he said.

MREC manager Mohd Fuad Eusof on the other hand said the programme gave his staff the opportunity to introduce horseback activities and sports.

“We want to remove the stigma that equestrian activities are only for certain groups of people. We present knowledge and encourage interest in learning about horses.

“Come here and you will get to touch horses, learn about these animals, and much more, plus try riding a horse. We also offer classes and further levels, as well as therapy for special needs children,” he said.
