SHAH ALAM, Sept 25 — The Selangor Volunteers (Serve) were in Alor Setar, Kedah today to assist with post-flood clean-up efforts, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.
The team, consisting of 16 individuals, helped clean Kampung Suka Menanti and Alor Merah in the Kota Setar district.
The number of flood victims in Kedah has decreased to 2,942 from 939 families as of 4pm, compared to 5,454 people from 1,745 families earlier this morning.
Kota Setar remains the district with the highest number of victims, with 1,576 individuals from 521 families still housed in eight temporary relief centres (PPS), followed by Pendang, with 1,220 victims from 366 families across 10 PPS.
Established in 2021, Serve now has over 5,000 volunteers who are always ready to assist communities in dealing with crises and disasters.
