KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 — Selangor is aiming to adapt artificial intelligence (AI) into the land management system, via district and land offices statewide, next year.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the technology will facilitate information delivery to the people and address fraud.

“In a year or two, hopefully our e-Tanah system can be accessed by the people. They will be able to use it to identify data that conforms to the Official Secrets Act, and there will be no middlemen or fraud,” he said at a press conference.

Earlier, he launched the Twin Accelerator Programme involving the seventh cohort of the Selangor Accelerator scheme and second cohort of the Selangor E-Commerce Xccelerator.

Held at the Asia School of Business here, the ceremony was also attended by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo and state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han.

Gobind said the Digital Ministry will table a new act on AI, which will allow data sharing, in Parliament at year-end.

He said that previously, the country has faced various issues that could not be solved due to information constraints and weak tech-related infrastructure.

“If we facilitate that access, it will expedite our collection of information analysis and enhance our capabilities in the AI technology field,” he said.

Previously, the Digital Ministry reportedly said it would relook and table amendments to the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
