SUBANG JAYA, Sept 8 — Over 1,200 residents of the Subang Jaya state constituency have registered for the Selangor Saring free health screening programme at Dewan MBSJ SS15 since yesterday.
Subang Jaya state assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze said 700 individuals registered on the first day, and as of 11am today, 500 more had registered via the SELangkah app and on-site.

She noted that the large turnout demonstrates Subang Jaya residents' awareness on the importance of health care.
"Initially, the Selangor Saring programme here was allocated for 450 participants per day, totalling 900 over the two days.
“Health screenings including for breast cancer, physiotherapy, eye, dental, and kidney checks, which could cost at least RM3,000 elsewhere, have drawn public attention.
"This programme shows the state government’s concern for the health of its people,” Ng said during the event today.

She added that the programme is part of the state government’s effort to educate the public on early disease prevention, especially for the less fortunate.
“In Subang Jaya, Selangor Saring has been held twice, benefiting 800 people in the previous term. We promoted the programme through posters and videos.
“Most participants are from the middle-income group (M40), senior citizens, and those without health insurance coverage,” Ng said.
During the tabling of the 2024 Selangor Budget on November 10 last year, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari announced a RM3.2 million allocation to continue Selangor Saring.
Previously, free health screenings were held in various state constituencies, including Paya Jaras, Dengkil, Sungai Tua, Batu Tiga, and Pandamaran.
