KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today expressed his admiration for the spirit shown by Selangor FC in the FA Cup final yesterday.
In a Facebook post, he also congratulated Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) for winning the match after defeating the Red Giants yesterday.
“Congratulations to JDT who won the competition yesterday. Maintain sports traditions to foster unity. Amazed by the spirit of the Selangor team,” he said in the message.
The Southern Tigers clinched the FA Cup trophy by beating Selangor 6-1 yesterday.
JDT won through goals from Juan Muniz’s hat-trick and a goal each from Arif Aiman Hanapi, Bergson Da Silva and Heberty Fernandes while Alvin Fortes netted Selangor FC’s only goal.
