AMPANG, Aug 11 — The First Selangor Plan (RS-1) is a result of the state government's efforts to clearly understand all the major issues faced by the people and to find solutions.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative had already been implemented since his first day helming the state administration but has been expanded to include all state leadership via RS-1.
“Any issue can be addressed and fully managed if we have a clear understanding of the problem. If we understand, we will resolve the main issue rather than just dealing with the symptoms and effects.
“When we want to develop economic opportunities, it is not just about planning on a map or in meetings. Instead, local issues need to be thoroughly understood. That is how RS-1 came about,” he said.
Amirudin was speaking at the opening ceremony of the Panorama recreational park in Bukit Antarabangsa yesterday night. Also present was Ampang Jaya Municipal Council President Ani Ahmad.
RS-1 was introduced by the state administration to meet short-term needs and build strong resilience for the future.
First presented in July 2022, the five-year development plan encompasses four pillars towards achieving the aspirations of a Smart, Liveable, and Prosperous State by 2025.
Meanwhile, the Menteri Besar expressed confidence that Panorama, which offers beautiful views of Kuala Lumpur, will become a major tourist attraction in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2025.
He said the location is also evident that the state leadership at all levels is always attentive to the current developments and needs of the community.
“This place started with a landslide. Then, we redeveloped it after recognising its potential. Now, it has become a popular spot to enjoy the beautiful views of Kuala Lumpur,” Amirudin said.
