PETALING JAYA, Aug 6 — The Bukit Gasing Community Service Centre has taken the initiative to open Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS) registration counters during a blood donation drive at SJKC Chen Moh here on Sunday.
Bukit Gasing assemblyman R. Rajiv said the initiative aims to ensure no resident is left behind in accessing the state’s basic treatment aid.
“Announcements of the counters’ opening were made through social media, SMS and banners in the area.
“From 11am, 80 residents have registered. Our aim is to get 150 people (registered) at the end of the drive,” he said when met after surveying the blood donation drive.

He explained that the counters were opened to allow the B40 community access to medical treatment.
“In Bukit Gasing, there are no government health clinics, so residents must fork out extra costs to get e-hailing vehicles and apply for leave to (seek treatment) in other areas.
“But with the ISS programme, they can be treated at 120 private clinics on the panel at any time, which can save costs and time,” he said.
Selangor’s Budget 2024 allocated RM35 million to continue the ISS, which helps policyholders receive immediate treatment at private clinics.
Every ISS policyholder is eligible for basic treatment and vaccination for up to RM500 a year for the family category, while individual policyholders can claim up to RM250 a year at any panel clinic in the state.
