SHAH ALAM, Aug 6 — The Selangor administration has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with cloud computing consultancy Enfrasys Solutions to further digitalise the state’s economic and government service infrastructure.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Selangor will continue to identify key partners to expedite retraining and upskilling its workers to provide higher income and quality jobs for its people.
“Efforts such as these are in line with the commitment of the state government to make the digital-first mindset not an option, but a norm.
“This is because as time and technology progress, people expect a more efficient delivery system of government services. We cannot continue with old systems and … multi-tiered processes that result in long waiting and approval times.
“As the government aims to move faster into digitalisation, we have to be quick to adapt to changing times, and we cannot be trapped in a digital bubble as the technologies we adopt must be user-friendly and geared towards solving problems faced by people on a day-to-day basis.”
Amirudin said this after witnessing the MoU signing between the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) and Enfrasys at Ideal Convention Centre here today.
The MoU allows SHRDC to partner with Enfrasys to deliver a temporary private 5G network in the Malaysian Smart Manufacturing 4.0 development centre for digital solution verification.
Amirudin said the state must now look for more ways to grow opportunities for Selangor residents after the state achieves high-income status, per the World Bank’s projections.
“We must push forward with a system that does not make a society dependent on the government, but an independent society that works to be proud members of Selangor’s dignified economy.
“That remains the commitment of the state government, as I outlined when tabling the recently passed First Selangor Plan mid-term review,” he said.
On the MoU, Amirudin said he is confident SHRDC will benefit from the innovation and service delivery enabled by the private 5G network.
This, he said, will allow for the exploration of benefits to enterprises in Selangor with enhanced industrial network reliability and performance, and drive digital transformation for industries and enterprises facilitated by leading technologies.
