SHAH ALAM, July 30 — The expansion of Jalan Puchong Jaya, which will cost approximately RM747,174.20, is expected to be completed by next month.

According to Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han, at present, the upgrading works, which began in February and cover a length 700 metres, are now at 48 per cent completion.

“The main objective of the upgrading works is to reduce traffic congestion along Jalan Bandar Puchong, particularly in the morning.

“Most of the traffic along this route are at Jalan Pipit or in the area of Bukit Tandang, heading to Jalan Bandar Puchong Jaya, and heading towards the LDP (Damansara-Puchong Expressway) in the morning,” he told the press during his visit to the upgrading works progress today.

Nga added that once the project is completed, the traffic congestion in the areas is expected to ease, with the expansion of two lanes from one.

“With the expansion, the road will have two lanes. This will ensure smooth traffic flow and is expected to save about 10 minutes during the peak hours for those heading to the LDP,” he said.

Subang Jaya City Council mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim, who was also present during the visit, is hopeful that the delayed project will be completed on schedule next month.

“I hope the project will complete as planned, despite the delays.

“It was originally set for completion in July, but we have extended the deadline by another month. It is crucial that we meet this new deadline to avoid further issues,” he said.
