SHAH ALAM, July 23 — Koperasi PKNS Bhd (KPB) and Pantai Bharu Group of Companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore economic development opportunities.
The deal was signed at Pantai Bharu’s Klang headquarters recently by KPB chairman Ishak Hashim and Pantai Bharu group executive director Siti Laila Shamshudin.
In a statement, Ishak said the cooperation is a strategic step as Pantai Bharu’s business expertise and skills will benefit KPB members.
“We are confident in our ability to offer attractive and competitive products. This is the fourth MOU signed this year as part of a strategic plan to diversify business activities in line with the cooperative’s objectives.
“The cooperative is open to collaborating with corporate companies and government organisations to drive business empowerment,” he said.
He also said this collaboration follows Pantai Bharu’s platinum sponsorship of the KPB Golden Jubilee Golf Championship held on Sunday.
Pantai Bharu is involved in the automotive sales business as an authorised dealer for Proton, Perodua, KIA, and other car brands.
The company is also involved in real estate, food processing, tourism, development training, agriculture, livestock, and digital media.
On June 8, KPB signed an MOU with Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, Norhendi Design & Build Sdn Bhd, and the Malaysian Cooperative Entrepreneurship University to boost economic growth.
In addition to ensuring the welfare of KPB members, the agreement aligns with the cooperative’s goal of becoming a top 100 cooperative in Malaysia, towards a brighter future.
