KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 — The Port Klang Authority has verified that the operations at Northport (Malaysia) Bhd and Westports Holdings Bhd are unaffected by the global Microsoft Windows glitch that has affected many industries.
Port Klang Authority general manager Captain K. Subramaniam said the outage does not affect systems at the ports, which are the main gateway by sea into Malaysia.
“At this time, we have no news of any disruptions (faced by ship liners),” he said when contacted at 5.10pm.
News reports from around the globe have predicted that various sectors, including banks, payment companies, airlines, and transport companies, will experience technical difficulties and delays following the glitch.
The reports cited issues linked to the global cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike.
CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. is an American cybersecurity technology company based in Austin, Texas. It provides penetration workload and endpoint security, threat intelligence and cyberattack services.
