SHAH ALAM, July 16 — Visit Selangor Year 2025 is set to attract eight million domestic and international tourists and generate RM11.7 billion in revenue.
To achieve this, Tourism Selangor said it will hold over 60 major events next year, with its promotional campaign focusing on segments like ecotourism, agrotourism, and arts and culture tourism.
The state agency said other tourism segments, such as gastronomy; meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions; and experiential travel will also be centred.
“The Visit Selangor Year campaign represents the latest direction in tourism promotion, whereby large-scale promotional activities will be conducted to enhance the profile and progress of Selangor’s tourism industry,” it told Media Selangor.

Tourism Selangor said it is conducting studies such as market analysis to identify potential tourist segments and current travel trends.
“In addition, tourism training and education programmes are being implemented to enhance the skills and awareness of industry practitioners towards tourist needs.
“We will also make preparations in terms of the safety and cleanliness of tourist destinations and public facilities, as well all provide a calendar on unique tourism events and festivals.”
Tourism Selangor said it will also intensify marketing efforts for the Visit Selangor Year via advertising, digital and social media, promotional campaigns both domestically and internationally, and tourism events, roadshows and exhibitions.
On July 11, it was reported that 55 Smart Selangor buses were fitted with attractive advertisement panels promoting tourism hotspots around the state in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2025.
The advertising campaign, involving a RM250,000 allocation, aims to promote Selangor’s nine districts with the support of five local authorities, namely, Shah Alam City Council, Petaling Jaya City Council, Subang Jaya City Council, Sepang Municipal Council and Kajang Municipal Council.
