KUALA LANGAT, July 13 — The Selangor Agro Auction Centre (PLAS) will open in Sijangkang and will be operational in August, said the state executive councillor for agriculture and infrastructure Izham Hashim.
The two-acre sales centre will feature various agricultural products from local entrepreneurs, including meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits.
“During our working visits to Japan and Korea, we observed that the auction centre concept is fairly effective, so we decided to establish one in Sijangkang.
“The centre will use both manual and online bidding systems, including Internet of Things apps, to facilitate entrepreneurs in bidding for their products,” he said during an inspection of PLAS at Batu 7 in Sijangkang yesterday

To ensure the centre operates with the best methods, Izham said Koperasi Warga Hijrah Selangor Berhad (Kohijrah) will ensure all products are of quality.
“We will maintain quality and good prices… there is no reason for the public to reject it. Besides that, we are conducting various price-slashing promotions to attract interest.
“Therefore, we urge entrepreneurs or suppliers with agricultural products to contact Kohijrah for bidding; registration is expected to open next week,” he said.
