SHAH ALAM, July 12 — Berjaya Land Berhad has injected RM15.6 million in funding to develop the Selangor Maritime Gateway economic zone project, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.

The corporation is responsible for obtaining financial resources according to the agreement's stipulated clauses.

“The Subscription and Shareholders Agreement signed on January 27, 2021, successfully established Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd (LLBSB), a joint venture between LLBSB and Berjaya Land Berhad.

“They have injected funds to finance infrastructure construction, preparing the planning and development plans, the process of paying land premiums, and Sungai Klang's cleaning programme,” he said.

Amirudin was responding to the claims made by state Opposition leader Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who alleged that Berjaya Land did not have sufficient finances, during the wind-up of the First Selangor Plan's Mid-Term Review at the State Legislative Assembly sitting yesterday.

The Menteri Besar added that 26.29 acres of land in Section 24 Shah Alam received planning permission approval for the layout plan for the riverfront development from the Shah Alam City Council on May 20.

“This entire development involves 1,922 housing units, of which 40 per cent have been mandated as affordable housing.

“It will be launched in the third quarter of 2025 after matters related to land and further approvals are resolved,” he said.
