SHAH ALAM, June 8 — A total of RM2.5 million has been allocated by the state government for the refurbishment of three People’s Housing Projects (PPR) in Selangor this year.

The three are the Kampung Baru Hicom PPR here, Kota Damansara PPR in Petaling Jaya and Seri Kiambang PPR in Serendah.

State executive councillor for housing and culture Borhan Aman Shah said in addition to the funds provided by the state, the three housing projects would also receive an additional maintenance allocation of RM1.74 million from the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT).

He also pledged the state and Federal governments’ commitment to ensuring that residents of strata housing enjoy a comfortable life.

“The 2024 Selangor Budget outlined the state’s commitment to continuously improve policies and strategies involving PPRs, thereby benefiting the people.

“This is also a testament to the government's concern in realising the hopes and dreams of the people for a more comfortable and conducive housing,” he said.

Borhan said this in his speech at the launch of the Jalinan Kasih Mesra PPR programme at the Kampung Baru Hicom PPR here. Also present was Selangor Housing and Property Board chief executive officer Datuk Juhari Ahmad.

At the event, Borhan also announced a special allocation of RM1.5 million to the Kampung Baru Hicom PPR for lift maintenance and replacement under the Lif Madani 2.0 initiative.

He added that various facilities there, including food court, motorcycle parking area and futsal court, will be similarly upgraded.

"The state government is well aware of the increasingly challenging situation and will continue to intensify efforts to strengthen smart partnerships with various parties to develop PPR, in line with the Madani model," he said.
