Over 34 hectares of permanent green retained in Siera Alam development — PKNS

KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 — An area of 34.4 hectares of land belonging to the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) in Siera Alam will be maintained as a green area in the Siera Alam development project, which will commence soon.

It said the development in the area, which will be carried out in phases, has received approval permit from the Shah Alam City Council's Engineering Department before starting the groundworks.

"The land works for the first phase have started since March which is expected to be completed in 2026. The first phase involves 61.3 hectares (151.5 acres) of land that will be developed for residential and commercial lots while the rest will be utility facilities.

"Meanwhile, land and main infrastructure works are still being planned for the second phase of Siera Alam development over 79.7 hectares (197 acres). This second phase will also develop residential, commercial, utility and recreational projects including maintaining the 34.4 hectare green area.

"Meanwhile, in relation to the one-kilometre-long road construction works located in the nearby area, PKNS is not involved in the construction, as was published in a newspaper report recently," said PKNS in a statement today.

Meanwhile, in line with efforts to support a 45 per cent carbon reduction by 2030 and net zero carbon in 2050, the corporation, as the real estate development agency of the Selangor state government, will always emphasise the concept of sustainability in every PKNS project through the best environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.
