SEPANG, March 24 — Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (Yide) was granted registration certification by the Personal Data Protection Department (JPDP) today for the processing of personal data in commercial health transactions.
Its chairman Tan Sri Mazlan Mansor said the certification would improve Yide’s ability to manage personal data, including that of contributors, registered orphans in its care, and other people who get general assistance, in a transparent and quality manner.
“Yide is the fourth foundation in Selangor to be registered with the JPDP for personal data processing in commercial transactions.
“The foundation is registered under the health category involving six dialysis centres supervised by the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) in Bukit Jelutong, Kapar, Kuala Selangor, Shah Alam, Sungai Besar, and Taman Melawati,” he said at the Yide Aidilfitri donation ceremony officiated by Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah at the Taman Putra Perdana Mosque, here today.
Mazlan stated that Yide prioritises the safety of personal data in addition to meeting the needs of kidney patients receiving treatment at its six dialysis centres, including counselling and therapy, and the continuity in the welfare of the orphans.
“To ensure the well-being and continuation of aid to orphans and other beneficiaries are protected, Yide consistently receives support from a variety of parties, and we hope that this support will continue,” he added.
Earlier, Tengku Amir witnessed the presentation of the certification of registration for personal data processing in commercial health transactions by JPDP director-general Prof Dr Mohd Nazri Kama to Mazlan.
During the same event, Tengku Amir also gave 427 orphans in the Sepang district Yide's Aidilfitri contributions, which totalled RM64,050.
