SHAH ALAM, March 21 — The KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) is offering free bulk waste collection service across the state in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration next month.
Its managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir said public members interested in using the service can make bookings through its i-Clean Selangor mobile application.
“We have already publicised this (bulk waste collection) and we welcome anyone to register if they want us to come and collect (their wastes).
“Last year, in Subang Jaya alone, we received over 1,000 applications. This year, we plan to do the same, but I would like to advise the public not to make last minute reservations,” he told reporters after an event at Plaza Perangsang, here, today.
i-Clean Selangor, which can be downloaded on the Google Play and App Store, is aimed at facilitating the public to lodge reports pertaining to solid waste disposal as well as apply for bulk waste collection service.
Meanwhile, Ramli urged the public to educate themselves to be more disciplined in separating waste and not to place this responsibility solely on the state agency.
“This is a shared responsibility. It makes it easier for everyone and we can help maintain cleanliness in the state,” he said.
