KUALA LANGAT, Jan 21 – The Selangor state administration may secure additional funding ranging between RM10 million and RM12 million from the Federal Government to expand the reach of its Jualan Ehsan Rahmah (JER), said Selangor Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS) chief executive officer Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi.

Khairil said Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari spoke with Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, officially seeking support in addition to the RM10 million already earmarked by the state to bolster the JER initiative.

"There will also be a few new products on sale at the JER. This year, we have a sales target of at least RM60 million. The state has allocated RM10 million for the campaign, and PKPS will also spend more to support the initiative," he told a press at a corn grain plantation in Tanjung Sepat, earlier today.

Khairil said apart from hosting more JER sales, PKPS will also expand its static JER brick and mortar outlets from four to seven.

“We also plan to expand our mobile JER fleet of lorries selling affordable daily goods to the people,’’ he said.

Khairil added that the overall sales for JER in 2023 was more than RM48 million.

The initiative would also be improved by adding more food items like fruits and vegetables to the list of goods sold, said Khairil.

The programme offers, among other things, chicken at RM10 each, beef at RM10 per pack, Grade B chicken eggs at RM10 per tray, mackerel at RM6 per pack, 5kg cooking oil at RM25 a bottle and 5kg rice at RM13 a pack
