MB announces 56 more Ehsan Mart outlets in aid of lower-income groups

SHAH ALAM, Nov 15 — To ensure low-income groups in the state have access to affordable daily necessities, the Selangor administration aims to open 10 more Ehsan Mart outlets next year.

There is currently only one Ehsan Mart in the state, located at Selayang Square in Gombak.

Ehsan Mart, which is a state-owned supermarket chain managed by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation, offers essential goods that are 10 to 15 per cent cheaper than market value.

In tabling the 2025 Selangor State Budget to the assembly today, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the administration aims for each state constituency to have one Ehsan Mart, for a total of 56 outlets.

Meanwhile, the state government will continue welfare initiatives such as the Skim Air Darul Ehsan free water programme, with a fresh allocation of RM40 million in next year’s state budget, and Jom Shopping vouchers during festival periods, with an allotment of RM12 million.

This year, an estimated six million Selangor residents have benefited from the Jualan Ehsan Rahmah affordable sales programme, held in over 1,560 locations and as frequent as four times a month in each state constituency.
