SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 — The slope strengthening works at the site of the Taman Wawasan landslide in Puchong continue without disruption, said Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han.

In a Facebook post yesterday, he said 775 pieces of sheet piles have already been installed successfully to ensure the slope stability.

"Another positive progress is all eight cars parked on the car porch have moved out safely.

"The contractor is in the process of refilling the slope and setting up the platform and access road. The construction of the monsoon drain will also begin in the next few days," Ng said.

Previously, Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said the Taman Wawasan piles installation process is expected to conclude by January 8.

The landslide, which occurred along Jalan Wawasan 3/9 and Jalan 3/14 in Taman Wawasan at around 7.30pm on December 16, resulted in the evacuation of 29 residents from nine terrace houses for safety reasons.

The disaster resulted in four vehicles being buried under the rubble, although no casualties were reported.
