SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — The issues of the interests of the elderly, especially the welfare and economic aspects of care, are summarised in the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) which was presented in July last year.
The state executive councillor for community welfare said the plan included establishing district and state-level senior citizens' development committees, counselling services and home assistance services.
Anfaal Saari explained the short-term and long-term plans to ensure the well-being of the people in question, who are also the most numerous in Selangor compared with other states.
"Next year, we will focus on improving training and guidance as well as the care economy sector," he said at the launch of the Senior Citizens Convention here today.
RS-1, which is the state's development framework for a period of five years, involves a total value of RM212.44 billion with the implementation of 262 projects, said the Menteri Besar.
According to Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari, a total of RM92.44 billion was channelled to state level development projects including the implementation of several incentives to ensure the welfare of the people.
