SHAH ALAM, Oct 24 — Approximately 36,326 Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor (Tawas) members entering Standard One next year will qualify for benefits under the School Entry Assistance Programme (PBMS).

Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (Yawas) said educational assistance, including school bags, writing materials, lunch boxes, and savings accounts, will be distributed starting this December.

"Beneficiaries comprise 49 per cent girls and 51 per cent boys. The process for claiming assistance is expected to begin this December.

"Download the Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor – Yawas app now and register to facilitate the assistance claiming process," it said in a Facebook post.

Previously, Yawas requested parents or guardians of Tawas members born in 2017 who will be entering Year One next year to update their information for assistance distribution.

Tawas is one of several state welfare programmes launched in 2008 and is open to Selangor-born children who meet the criteria and must be registered before the child turns three. Members will receive RM1,500 when they reach the age of 18.
