KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — PKNS FM Integrated Sdn Bhd (PKNS FMI) has been appointed as the industrial park manager for the newly launched Green Industrial Park (GRIP) Kota Puteri.

Its chief operating officer Shamsul Bahari Ahmad said the company’s comprehensive service offerings include overseeing the planning, maintenance, development, and efficient operation of infrastructure facilities within the park.

PKNS FMI's job scope also covers managing workers and members of the public's welfare and safety in the park.

“We are also managing the Temporary Labour Quarters (TLQ) and Centralised Labour Quarters (CLQ), where we expect to manage 50,000 foreign workers.

“By using the latest technology and information management system, PKNS FMI will be able to provide the best service for foreign workers and GRIP," he told Bernama.

PKNS FMI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), while GRIP is PKNS’ first managed industrial park.

It is responsible for overseeing compliance with MIP’s guidelines, which includes ensuring the park is in good condition, clean, comfortable, and safe for investors, manufacturers, factory workers, and all members of the public working in the area.

Earlier today, PKNS, Inter Great (M) Sdn Bhd and PKNS FMI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set the groundwork for future collaborative efforts in developing the TLQ project.

PKNS is expected to construct 8,000 units of TLQ by 2024, while 50,000 units of CLQ will be built by 2032.

Meanwhile, PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said GRIP Kota Puteri offers industrial lots ranging from one to 10 acres, providing ample space for businesses to expand and thrive within a sustainable environment.

The park also offers semi-detached factories, ranging from 7,800 to 12,000 square feet, with world-class facilities.

“The GRIP project entails two phases. For the first phase, we will launch approximately 140 acres open for sale at the end of the first quarter of next year due to high demand from industry players, investors, and manufacturers.

“The expected completion in terms of infrastructure, including roads, electricity and water facilities and others, is within three years," he said to Bernama.
