SUBANG JAYA, Oct 16 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has proposed a budget allocation of RM336.23 million for the upcoming year to achieve the goal of developing a smart and sustainable city.

Its mayor Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said RM222.73 million, or 66 per cent, will be allocated for operating expenses, while RM113.5 million, or 34 per cent, will go towards development expenditures.

He said the planned development will focus on six characteristics — a safe city, a smart city, a prosperous city, a healthy city, a green city, and a thriving city.

“The budget estimate for the year 2024 presented today (yesterday) demonstrates the commitment of MBSJ’s workforce to continue providing the best and highest-quality services to all the residents of Subang Jaya,” he said at a press conference following the MBSJ 2024 Budget Townhall Session held at the Saujana Hotel Golf Resort, here yesterday.

According to Mohd Fauzi, the city’s development also places a strong emphasis on utilising modern technologies to accommodate both the requirements and lifestyles of the present and the future.

“These initiatives are aimed at offering the people of Subang Jaya a joyful, prosperous, harmonious, and sustainable urban lifestyle,” he said.
