Pulai by-election: 927 cops cast ballots

JOHOR BAHRU, Sept 5 — Early voting for the Pulai parliamentary by-election today will see 927 cops cast their ballots at two polling centres.

The Kempas Police Station and Marine Police (PPM) Region 2 Headquarters polling centres in Tampoi, comprising three streams, opened simultaneously at 8am and will close in stages at noon and 5pm.

On Saturday, the Meteorological Department forecast clear weather in the morning in Pulai and rain in the afternoon.

The Pulai and Simpang Jeram by-elections were called after the death of incumbent Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who was also Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, on July 23.

There is no early voting for the Simpang Jeram by-election.

The Pulai by-election will see a three-cornered fight between Pakatan Harapan candidate Suhaizan Kaiat, Perikatan Nasional candidate Zulkifli Jaafar and Independent candidate Samsudin Mohamad Fauzi.

Polling is on Saturday.
