KLANG, Aug 27 — The modules for the Selangor People's Tuition Program (PTRS) for students preparing to sit for the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) will be distributed starting in September.
Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI's chief operating officer Saipolyazan M Yusop said the programme was introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic and is expected to benefit around 65,000 students from 277 schools.
He said 272 of these schools are SMKs and SABKs, and the rest are Selangor Integrated Tahfiz Schools (MITS).
"They will receive modules for six subjects: the Malay language, the English language, mathematics, science, history, and additional mathematics. All these modules will begin to be distributed from September onwards.
"They will not only receive learning modules but will also be provided with lunch throughout their tuition sessions," he said during a donation programme at Rumah Anak Yatim Al-Munirah yesterday.
Last week, MBI said over RM10 million will be allocated to students and schools to empower Selangor's education sector.
The allocation is for PTRS' implementation, Back to School assistance, and contributions to the schools' infrastructure.
