KLANG, Aug 22 — Tanjong Sepat state assemblyman Borhan Aman Shah, appointed to serve as Selangor executive councillor for a second term, hopes to be entrusted with the same portfolios he formerly held, to ensure the continuity of its programmes.

He was previously in charge of rural development and traditional village, Malay customs, culture and heritage, prior to the dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly in June to make way for the 15th Selangor State Election on August 12.

However, Borhan did not discount the possibility of a reshuffling of some of his portfolios, to ensure better compatibility.

"I am grateful to be given the mandate and space by the party leadership, as well as the consent of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, to serve in the executive council for another term.

"I have asked to my retain my (former) portfolios, although there may be some addition and perhaps one or two (portfolios) being given to the new exco members," he told SelangorKini yesterday.

Borhan, previously rumoured to be among the names being proposed for the Menteri Besar post, said he would abide by whatever decision the leadership comes to.

"These portfolios will be discussed tomorrow (today) with the Menteri Besar (Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari) and the other executive councillors, after the civil servants' assembly.

"Whatever decision is made, I see it as a responsibility," he said.

Borhan took his oath of office before His Royal Highness yesterday to serve the state's executive council for a second term.

Two other individuals who were retained in the leadership lineup are Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han and Pandan Indah state assemblyman Izham Hashim.

Meanwhile, seven new faces were appointed, namely Najwan Halimi (Kota Anggerik), Fahmi Ngah (Seri Setia), Ng Suee Lim (Sekinchan), Jamaliah Jamaluddin (Bandar Utama), V. Papparaidu (Banting), Anfaal Saari (Taman Templer), and Datuk Rizam Ismail (Sungai Air Tawar).
