SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — Cleanup and investigation of yesterday’s plane crash at the Elmina Interchange (Exit 3504) of the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) are expected to finish this afternoon, The New Straits Times reported.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said this morning the search operations are 95 per cent complete and the route will reopen to the public once operations conclude.
“So far, we have recovered all human remains of the victims and have sent them to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang, for post-mortem.
"We also found 21 personal belongings from the site,” he was quoted to have said in a press conference.
Razarudin said investigations found the e-hailing driver who was killed in the crash had no passengers.
Meanwhile, he said following checks with the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), the aircraft involved in the crash only contained a Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and no Flight Data Recorder.
“This (CVR) was recovered at 10.20pm last night, and it is with the AAIB," he said.
He urged the public with any dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
Earlier, Razarudin and Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan arrived at the crash site to inspect the progress of operations.
Yesterday, a six-seater Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) plane crashed onto the GCE near Bandar Elmina in Shah Alam at about 2.50pm.
Eight people onboard and two road users on the highway were killed in the incident.
