SHAH ALAM, July 25 — The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) collaborated with Pangsapuri Pendamar's joint management body and Rukun Tetangga members in carrying out a gotong-royong programme to prevent Aedes mosquitoes from breeding, on Sunday (July 23).
In a statement yesterday, it said the programme is aimed at carrying out cleaning activities in residential areas, as well as raising awareness among the community about the dangers of dengue.
"Various activities have been organised to raise public awareness, including dengue fever briefings and monitoring, exhibitions, and more," MPK said.

Over 120 people were involved in the gotong-royong, including MPK council member G. Pannir Selvum and its Health Director Azmi Muji.
Prior to this, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said initiatives like the One Hour Malaysia Clean Up by the Health Ministry are seen as being able to reduce dengue cases, by actively involving the community in gotong-royong activities.
