SHAH ALAM, July 24 — The present administration's accomplishments as the state government since 2008 will be used during the upcoming state election campaign, so as to ensure its victory during the polling day on August 12.
Sinar Harian quoted Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari as saying that they will highlight the themes of renewal, experience, history, current achievements, and future plans for Selangor's residents.
"The Pakatan Harapan administration with 15 years of experience governing Selangor has been well-tested when handling several situations, during the period when we were in Opposition.
"We were formerly with the Federal government for 22 months (from May 10, 2018, to February 22, 2020), until it collapsed due to the Sheraton Move. Now we are once again of the same mind with the (present) Federal government," he said in an interview published yesterday.
Amirudin added the alliance between Harapan and Barisan Nasional (BN) will strengthen the coalition from a traditional standpoint.
If the administration is given the mandate in the upcoming state election, the state government will also focus on strengthening the education sector, especially beyond secondary schooling.
He believes the rational nature, policies, and desires of the people to sustain a good quality of life and progress in the state will help Harapan remain in power.
"We will become a caring state, where Selangor is always attentive, adaptable, and considerate of what is best for the people in their various offerings," Amirudin said.
The state election's candidate nomination day has been set for July 29, with early voting on August 8 and the polling day on August 12.
