SHAH ALAM, July 23 — Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari has expressed his condolences upon the passing of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who died earlier this evening.

In a Facebook post, he referred to the late Salahuddin as 'a determined leader who worked hard for the people.'
"Holding the portfolio on living costs, he was always caring and ready to discuss anything in helping Selangor's residents.
"Innalillahi wainna ilaihi raji’un Allahummaghfirlahu warhamhu wa’afihi wa’fu’anhu (We belong to Allah, and to Him we return)," Amirudin said.
Salahuddin, the Pulai MP, was rushed to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar on Friday (July 21), where doctors confirmed he had suffered a brain haemorrhage and underwent immediate surgery.
He was placed under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following the surgery, as he was in critical condition. However, he passed away at 9.23pm.
Salahuddin leaves behind his wife Datin Fatimah Taha and six children.
