Keep up wins in three Harapan-led states, says Nga

BANGI, July 11 — States under Pakatan Harapan — Selangor, Penang, and Negeri Sembilan — have been successfully managed, and in order to keep up the momentum of success, voters need to choose wisely in the August 12 state elections, DAP vice-chairman Nga Kor Ming said.

He said the Selangor government has been led by Harapan since 2008, and at the time, the state reserve fund was only RM430 million.

However, after three terms, it increased tenfold to a whopping RM3.4 billion, making the state the biggest contributor to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) at 25.5 per cent.

“This is an excellent record because the government has integrity, so there is no leakage.

“As the state prospers, the people also enjoy various benefits, from the cradle to the grave, such as free bus rides, scholarships, and free insurance,” said Nga, who is also Local Government Development Minister, after a walkabout at Taman Tasik Cempaka in Bandar Baru Bangi, earlier today.

As for Penang, he said the state has become the country’s major exporter despite being the second-smallest state with a contribution of 30 per cent, while Negeri Sembilan has achieved full employment with a joblessness rate of 2.55 per cent.

“It is crucial to maintain this momentum in Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan. These are significant achievements,” Nga said.
