SHAH ALAM, June 25 – The Mega Ehsan Rahmah Aidiladha programme is being held at six locations today, offering a wide range of essential items, including 12,000 chickens and 6,000 trays of eggs.
The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) announced that the sale of essential goods is taking place at six different locations, namely in Tanjung Karang (Dewan Haji Omar Kampung Bukit Belimbing), Sabak Bernam (Tapak Pasar Sehari Pekan Sabak), Hulu Selangor (Dataran Niaga Serendah), Shah Alam (Dewan MBSA Sungai Gapis), Kuala Selangor (Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim) and Kuala Langat (No 116, Jalan 2 Taman Damai Indah, Banting).
Its chief executive officer Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said that they have increased the quantity of chickens to 12,000, with 2,000 chickens available at each location.
Additionally, other items such as eggs, fish, rice, and cooking oil are also available, totalling 6,000 units or packs, with 1,000 units available at each location.
Furthermore, PKPS is offering dry goods under the Ehsan brand, including one-kilogramme packets of cooking oil, as well as fresh fish and clams at all the designated mega sale locations.
The initiative aims to attract 20,000 buyers to visit the event during the two-day period. It is anticipated that around six million Selangor residents will benefit from this programme by the end of the year.
The programme offers standard chickens at RM10 each, frozen solid meat at RM10 per pack, Grade B eggs at RM10 per tray, mackerel fish at RM6 per pack, 5kg cooking oil at RM25 and 5kg rice at RM10.
This programme is a continuation of the previous Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat (JER) initiative, which was renamed on June 1 and is being continued in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN).
The festive sale offers prices that are 30 per cent lower than the market prices to assist low-income individuals in saving money.
