SHAH ALAM, June 20 — Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari hosted an event for Unity Government state representatives to express his gratitude for their services throughout the five-year term.
His political secretary Juwairiya Zulkifli said that the evening reception at his official residence, here today, also included a special address from the Menteri Besar.
“This event is a show of appreciation to the state representatives from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (Keadilan), DAP, Amanah, and Barisan Nasional for their services and contributions.
“This is also the final gathering before the Selangor State Legislative Assembly dissolves on Friday,” she said when met.
Among the representatives present were Port Klang state assemblyman Azmizam Zaman Huri, Rozana Zainal Abidin (Permatang), Datuk Rizam Ismail (Sungai Air Tawar) and Halimey Abu Bakar (Seri Setia).
Yesterday, Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj consented to the dissolution of the state assembly on Friday to pave the way for the state election.
The announcement of the dissolution declaration was made early following His Royal Highness' and Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashiki’s departure to Mecca today to perform the haj pilgrimage.
Polling day must be held within 60 days from the dissolution of the state assembly. All six states — Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu — are anticipated to dissolve their assemblies around the same time for the elections to be held simultaneously.
