KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 30 — The Selangor Volunteers (Serve) team was not deployed for a post-flood mission in Terengganu as conditions remain under control, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

However, the team is always ready to help, especially for the next wave of floods which is expected to occur next month.

“We have discussed with the Terengganu state government and they said that there is no need for a post-flood mission to be carried out as almost all of the areas have been cleaned.

“This is different from Kelantan, there is a need for assistance because Rantau Panjang is still flooded. We will be ready and coordinate various assistance in the form of machinery or volunteers,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking at the handover of RM500,000 in flood donations to the Terengganu state government, via its Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar at Seri Iman, earlier today.

On Tuesday (December 27), he handed over a similar donation to Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob as a gesture of sympathy for the plight of the people in the state.

On December 20, Amirudin said the Selangor state government has donated RM1 million to Kelantan and Terengganu, as part of the effort in helping them to manage the floods in those states.
